Sarah Ann Bonar made her Scotland Women debut off the bench against Spain in the first of two Women's Rugby World Cup Qualifiers in November 2016.

She went on to feature in every game of the 2017 Six Nations and made her first start in the game against England at Twickenham Stoop.

The Aberdeen-born lock took up rugby in 2014. She attended Hartpury College and went on to study Geography at Loughborough University, before becoming a secondary teacher in Geography.

Bonar took a brief break from rugby to focus on her RAF training in 2021, before returning to feature in the squad for the Rugby World Cup 2021 Europe Qualifiers in Parma, Italy.

Bonar has previously played for Premier 15s sides Loughborough Lightning and Gloucester-Hartpury. In July 2021, it was announced that Bonar was joining Harlequins ahead of the the 2021/22 Allianz Premier 15s season.
