Ross McCann was first involved in the Scotland 7s set up during the 2017/18 series, where he made four appearances in the early rounds at Dubai, Cape Town, Sydney and Hamilton.
He was then selected to be a core squad member for last season's campaign, playing in eight events and establishing himself as an important part of the Scotland group.
McCann began his rugby journey at RHC Cougars in Edinburgh, where he played a handful of games, before moving on to fellow capital side Stewart's Melville.
A move to Melrose followed, where the winger enjoyed great success including scoring an outrageous four tries in their 2018 Scottish Cup final triumph over Stirling County to complete a memorable domestic double for the Borders club.
In 2021 McCann was named in the GB squad to travel to the delayed Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, with the squad narrowly missing out on a medal in finishing fourth.
