During the 2020/21 and 2021/22 seasons, Alex played in the Super Series competition with Stirling Wolves and latterly, Ayrshire Bulls. He made his processional debut for Warriors in November 2022, starting in a 37-0 victory over Benetton at Scotstoun.
Alex has been involved in the Scotland environment before, having played every game in the 2021 U20 Six Nations, and the second row also trained with the senior squad during the Guinness Six Nations in the same season, and again during the 2023 Rugby World Cup.
He earned his first cap in the Autumn Nations Series starting against Portugal on 16 November 2024, becoming cap no. 1233.
