George Edward Turner became the 1086th player to represent Scotland with a replacement appearance against Samoa in the 2017 Autumn Test win at BT Murrayfield Stadium.
His first Scotland try came as part of a hat-trick against Canada on the 2018 summer tour - the first since Ally Hogg scored three for Scotland against Romania in 2007.
A week later he made his first Scotland start in the 30-29 defeat to USA in Houston, Texas.
He then returned to scoresheet a week on, with a try-scoring replacement appearance in the national team's 44-15 win over Argentina.
His fourth try put him level with Gordon Bulloch, Ross Ford and Stuart McInally as the national team's top try-scoring hookers of all time (4), a figure that has since been added to with two further scores.
He joined Edinburgh Rugby in the summer of 2011, as an Elite Development Player, and travelled with Harry Leonard and Grant Gilchrist on the Macphail scholarship to New Zealand.
He made his first start in 14 appearances for the capital club against Dragons in April 2017 before moving to Glasgow Warriors that summer.
He was an uncapped tourist on his first, senior international call-up on the 2017 summer tour as one of three uncapped players and again involved in the August camp later that year, before again earning selection for the Autumn Tests in November.
The, hooker, who had represented Scotland at U18 and U20 level, started his first Six Nations match in the impressive Calcutta Cup win at Twickenham in 2021.
