Scotland Women U18 7s
This programme develops core rugby skills, 7s knowledge and understanding, and provides opportunities to play in international age-grade tournaments to build experience and confidence in preparation for senior rugby.
Nominations are now open for female players aged between 16 - 18 years old for the Scotland Women U18 7s programme. Rugby experience is not essential, but the potential to learn fast and develop is what we’re looking for.
Specifically, we want athletes who can demonstrate more than one of these attributes:
- Speed & agility
- Endurance
- Hand-eye coordination
- High energy and work rate
- Strong tackler
- Catch and pass skills
- Game awareness & rugby knowledge
- Positive attitude
- Teamwork
The programme consists of a combination of performance camps and skills sessions, which culminate in competing at the Rugby Europe Championships in Prague. The programme will run from 2nd – 26th July 2022.
Eligibility
Female players born on or between 1st January 2004 – 31st December 2005 are eligible for nomination to the Scotland U18 7s programme. This aligns with World Rugby age banding used in the planned tournaments.
