PROFILE

Whilst a pupil at Kilbarchan Primary School, Louise’s rugby career started out as a mini at Birkmyre RC. By the time she was at Gryffe High School, Louise was playing her rugby with Hillhead Jordanhill, joining the team in 2015.

At Hillhead Jordanhill, Louise captained the team to victories in the Sarah Beaney Cup in 2017 and 2018 and led them to the Tennent’s Women’s Premier League Championship in 2018.

Louise’s international rugby journey began with the Scotland Women U19 Sevens team in 2013, followed by selection for the U20 squad alongside her sister, Siobhan, in 2014/15. She earned her first senior cap for the Scotland on November 18 2016, against Spain in the Women’s Rugby World Cup Qualifier at Scotstoun Stadium.

In addition to her XV rugby career, Louise was also part of the Scotland Women Sevens squad that won the Rugby Europe Trophy in 2018, securing promotion to the Grand Prix competition.

In 2022, Louise was one of 28 women’s players awarded a full-time professional contract from Scottish Rugby.

Since her debut, Louise has gone on to feature in the Six Nations championship, WXV2 competitions and most notably the 2021 Rugby World Cup (played in 2022).

Louise joined PWR side Saracens at the start of the 2022/23 season, following the Rugby World Cup in New Zealand, and in the 2023/24 sean, the native Glaswegian featured for Glasgow Warriors in the Celtic Challenge.

Away from rugby, Louise pursued a law degree at the University of Glasgow, balancing her studies with her burgeoning rugby career. She graduated in 2020.
