Debenture Holder Information
In order to help meet the cost of redeveloping BT Murrayfield, Scottish Rugby has over the years issued a series of Debentures. Whilst the rights and benefits associated with each type of Debenture vary, the Debenture holder generally receives the right to purchase match tickets in return for their investment. For full details of the benefits of holding a Debenture, Debentures holders are advised to refer to the documentation issued with their Debenture.
Frequently Asked Questions
What does my Debenture entitle me to?
Murrayfield Debenture Holders are entitled to apply for tickets for their designated seat for each International match played at BT Murrayfield in the Six Nations Series. For other games, where Scottish Rugby maintain direct control over ticket allocations (e.g. Autumn Tests) Murrayfield Debenture Holders will be able to apply for a ticket within a time limit detailed at the time.
Irredeemable Debenture Holders are entitled to purchase two tickets per Debenture for each International match played at BT Murrayfield. These will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis in the West Stand. (Platinum and Gold seats are located within this area.) As tickets are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, if you choose Platinum seats and they are already sold out at the time of booking, you will be allocated the best available in Gold and informed of this change.
How do I apply for tickets?
Murrayfield and Irredeemable Debenture Holders are sent Book Forms in the post in late April/early May each year. You should complete and return your forms along with payment to the BT Murrayfield Ticket Office by the deadline stated on the form.
I have lost/not received my Book Form?
Personalised replacement forms can be requested by emailing [email protected] Alternatively, non-personalised replacement forms can be downloaded (link below). If you choose to download one of these forms, please ensure you use the correct form for your debenture type and complete all information required (e.g. Debenture Holder Number, Name and Address). Failure to do this may result in your form being returned to you unprocessed. If you need any of this information, please contact [email protected] or call 0131 346 5160 and a member of the ticketing team will be happy to help.
Are there other ways of purchasing?

Why is the closing date in October?
Scottish Rugby wants to ensure that as many supporters as possible are given the opportunity to purchase tickets to see the International team in action. Due to this, it is important that we know how many tickets have not been taken up by Debenture Holders so that these can be allocated to other sales groups such as Home Clubs and Youth Groups and Schools.
What happens if I miss the closing date?
Bookings not made by the deadline are re-allocated to other prior rights groups as well as public sales. These tickets are immediately available to these groups and therefore it is unlikely that applications made after the deadline will be successful.
How many tickets can I apply for?
Murrayfield Debenture Holders are able to apply for one ticket per seat held for each home International match held at BT Murrayfield for the Six Nations Series.
Irredeemable Debenture Holders are entitled to purchase two tickets per Debenture for each International match played at BT Murrayfield.
When should I expect to receive my tickets?
This depends on the delivery option chosen at the time of booking:
Scotland International tickets are usually dispatched approximately 2 weeks prior to the game if postage has been selected at the time of booking.
If you have opted for Print at Home, these should arrive within 5-10 minutes of your booking to the email address given during the booking process unless otherwise stated. If this does not arrive, please check your ‘Junk’ and ‘Spam’ folders as these can often be filtered by email servers. If your tickets are not in these folders, please email [email protected]
If you have chosen to collect your tickets, these can be collected in advance from the Scottish Rugby Ticket Centre, BT Murrayfield Stadium or on matchday, where we will be open until half time. We do strongly recommend that you collect your tickets for a Scotland game no later than 2 hours prior to kick off to avoid queues.
Can I apply for car parking?
For every four 'C' Class Debentures owned, a car park pass can be provided free of charge. If you are unsure which class of Debenture you hold, please contact us on 0131 346 5160 or email [email protected]. Public car parking availability varies from game to game. Please check scottishrugbytickets.com to check availability.
Am I entitled to Hospitality with my Debenture?
Murrayfield “C” and “D - Thistle” Debenture holders are offered the opportunity to purchase the official debenture hospitality packages at all games. Packages, which usually start around three hours before kick-off and finish an hour after the final whistle, generally include a three-course meal, drinks before and after the game and food post-match.

Am I entitled to my Debenture seats at concerts?
Debenture holders are not guaranteed tickets for concerts or other events held at BT Murrayfield. In other situations, where Scottish Rugby maintain direct control over ticket allocations, Debenture Holders will be able to apply for a ticket within a time limit detailed at the time.
What should I do if I lose my tickets?
If you have lost your tickets for an event which Scottish Rugby maintains direct control over ticketing, or if you have not received your tickets by 2 working days before the match, please contact us by email on [email protected]. This email should include your full details, the section and seat numbers booked and the reason you are not in possession of the tickets. If tickets have been stolen, please provide a Police crime reference number. If your tickets have been posted to an old address, please try to make contact to retrieve the tickets before contacting us. We may be able to replace lost tickets however there will be a charge for this to be processed.
To whom can I give/sell my tickets?
To protect supporters against touts, and in line with Scottish Rugby’s Ticketing Terms and Conditions, tickets must not be transferred or sold (or offered for transfer or sale) through any secondary ticketing service provider, auction site or website. Failure to comply with these Terms and Conditions will result in sanctions being imposed by Scottish Rugby on the person to whom the original ticket[s] were sold. Terms and conditions can be found at https://www.scottishrugby.org/tickets-and-events/tickets-terms-and-conditions
How do I notify you of an address change?
As your Debenture is a legal document, Scottish Rugby need to receive any requests in writing. You can e-mail [email protected] with your old and new address. Alternatively, you can send a letter to Ticket Centre, BT Murrayfield Stadium, Edinburgh, EH12 5PJ.
I need to transfer a debenture due to a bereavement
If you need to process a Debenture Transfer due to a bereavement please email [email protected]
Can I sell/give/transfer my debentures to someone else?
Yes, this can be done by completing a “Stock Transfer Form”. Make sure you complete the correct form, depending on what type of debenture you have:
The correct completed Stock Transfer Form should then be returned to Scottish Rugby with the original debenture certificates and a cheque for £20 (made payable to Scottish Rugby Union Limited).
What should I do if I have lost my Debenture Certificates?
If you do not have your original certificates, please complete an indemnity form (linked below) and send to Scottish Rugby. Once received, Scottish Rugby will produce new certificates and post these out to you at the address on your Debenture Account.
How do I sell my Debenture?
Speirs & Jeffrey, the broker which previously provided a service matching buyers and sellers of Scottish Rugby Debentures, was sold to Rathbone Brothers last year. Unfortunately, they are no longer able to replicate this service provision within the Rathbones Group, and so ceased to provide this service from 15 June 2019.
This service is an activity regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority and one which Scottish Rugby is not authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority to conduct. Therefore, any future matching of buyers and sellers of Scottish Rugby Debentures will need to be done privately between individuals. Public auction sites are often used for sales and can be checked for availability.
Once the sale of a debenture has been privately agreed, please contact Scottish Rugby at [email protected].
